She has taken her performances to another level in 2026, recording personal bests of 11.15s in the 100m and 22.77s in the 200m. At the African Senior Athletics Championships in Accra, Ghana, she finished fourth in the women’s 100m final and helped Nigeria secure gold in the 4x100m relay in a championship-record time of 42.94s.

With a personal best of 45.23s in the 400m, Nathaniel will bring considerable experience to the men’s 400mH, where he is expected to be among the major attractions.

Adams Kure won bronze at the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In the field events, Nigerian javelin specialist Adams Samuel Kure will headline the men’s javelin competition.

Kure recorded one of the biggest international achievements of his career in November 2025 when he won bronze at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a throw of 76.01m, finishing behind Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem and Muhammad Yasir.

He has also represented Nigeria at the African Senior Athletics Championships, further establishing himself as one of the country’s leading javelin throwers.

His presence in the men’s javelin is expected to add significant quality to the field events, as spectators look forward to seeing the Nigerian international in action.

The participation of these athletes highlights the growing appeal of the Athletic Heat Anniversary Meet, which continues to attract established international competitors alongside the next generation of Nigerian athletics talent.

Meanwhile, Athletic Heat has completed the seeding of events and allocation of bib numbers ahead of the November 7 competition.

Athletes and coaches have been advised to check the Roster Athletics App for their respective events, heat and flight assignments, as well as allocated bib numbers.

The senior men’s 100m has attracted an impressive 320 entries, with the top 32 athletes by ranking advancing to four finals. In the senior women’s 100m, the top 24 athletes will advance to the finals.

For the age-grade competitions, the U15 100m will feature heats, with finalists determined by ranking, while the U11 boys’ 100m will have two heats and a final. The top eight athletes in the U11 girls’ 100m will advance to the final.

In the 400m and 800m events, athletes have been seeded according to their season-best performances, with the fastest competitors grouped together in Final A.

Hurdles finals will be limited to six athletes each due to equipment availability, while the long jump competition will feature two flights based on performance levels.

Prizes and awards will be distributed according to the respective event prize structures, with athletes ranked based on their performances. Under-age athletes competing in throwing events will have their performances recorded and uploaded but will not be eligible for prizes.

The organising committee has also advised athletes who will not be attending to notify the committee on or before Tuesday, November 3, to have their entries scratched and avoid unnecessary Did Not Start (DNS) entries.

All participating athletes are expected to arrive early, come with their allocated bib numbers and confirm their heat or flight assignments upon arrival.

The competition is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM at the Yaba College of Technology Sports Complex, Lagos.

As Athletic Heat celebrates ten years of impact, the anniversary meet promises a memorable day of competition, bringing together international stars, established Nigerian athletes and emerging talents on one platform.
