World Championship Medalists Ewoi, Yemi Mary, TJ Ossai and Max Thomas Donate to Athletic Heat Meet

As the highly anticipated Athletic Heat 10th Anniversary Meet draws closer, world-class athletes and members of the global athletics community are stepping forward to support the milestone celebration, joining a growing list of Nigerian track and field stars committed to making the event a success.

Among the latest supporters are reigning World Relays 4x100m gold medalist Max Thomas representing USA, 2025 World Championship 1500m Silver medalist Dorcus Ewoi of Kenya, and British indoor 400m champion and multiple-time World and Olympic medalist Yemi Mary, who have all made financial contributions towards hosting the competition.

Thomas, who clocked an impressive 9.90 seconds this season in the 100m, has thrown his weight behind the initiative, lending his support to an event dedicated to celebrating a decade of promoting Nigerian athletics and creating opportunities for athletes to showcase their talents.

Joining him is Ewoi, the Kenyan distance-running star and World Championship silver medalist in the 1500m, whose contribution further highlights the growing international support for the anniversary meet.

The international support extends beyond these three stars, with Ghanaian athlete Mustapha Bopkin and Ivory Coast’s African 200m champion, Traoxe Chiekena, also joining the growing community of supporters backing the Athletic Heat anniversary celebration. Their involvement further underscores the event’s growing reach across the African athletics community.

Scheduled for November 7, 2026, at the YabaTech Sports Complex in Lagos, the meet will celebrate 10 years of Athletic Heat’s contribution to Nigerian athletics while providing a platform for athletes to compete, earn prizes and connect with the wider athletics community.

For Athletic Heat, the support means far more than financial contributions. It represents a vote of confidence in the vision behind the anniversary celebration and the collective effort to continue investing in Nigerian track and field.
