(Name, Gender,DOB and Events 2021 season bests). Include relays entries if your team/club would be featuring.
Events: 400m(special race) and Sprint Medley and 4x400m Relays.
This is a carefully thought out competition strategy aimed at fostering gutsy approach to running the 400m.
Why 400m?
According to the organisers, the quatermile is arguably the most tasking sprint event and a huge measure of stamina in almost all of track events.
400m All-out challenge/race is designed to cater for speed, strength and stamina requirements in sprints and middle distance races. Distance runners would surely gain good assessment of their capabilities over 1 lap, which would in turn dictate what pace they can be comfortable with while racing longer distances.
When asked about field events athletes and hurdlers, it was said that everyone is captured in the gruesome 1 lap race. Speed, strength and agility would readily be tested during the challenge.
More events would definitely be featured in subsequent editions.
Event BREAKDOWN:
Each runner must run in their lanes for the first 100m and can cut into inner lanes at the 300m start line.
Stages wins=
First, Second, Third and Fourth 100m winners would earn 10% extra points of the finishing time of 1 lap (performance scores on World Athletics calculator).
For example: 400m time of WA calculator score plus 10% of such as bonus points for winning stage/stages.
Seeding into lanes is by ballot.
