It’s been EIGHT years of recognising, promoting and supporting Nigerian athletes and coaches with our various initiatives such as Athlete of the Week, Athletic Heat annual Awards, School and sport program and managing Athletes.
In the last 8 years we have rewarded over 200 Nigerian athletes for their remarkable achievements on the track while over 35 million naira has gone towards recognising these amazing athletes, and we would want to thank Asiwaju Temitope Alli for his continued contribution to making this a success through his organisation, Yesir Foundation. As well as Ultima Studios, Ebony life place, MTN, Bazeelel consulting, Cerebral media to mention a few.
In 2019, our CEO was nominated for the Future Africa Awards for his immense impact in Nigerian sports. That same year he was also awarded the Most Innovative Entrepreneur in Sports under the age of 25 by SME 100 Africa, following all the numerous successful ventures he has spearheaded.
2019 was a big year for us as a company, as Citi Bank thought to sponsor two Nigerian para-athletes ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and we were fortunate that two of our athletes; Paul Kehinde (of blessed memory) and Lucy Ejike were picked. We brokered the deal and ensured our athletes fulfilled their obligations while the bank did theirs. Lucy went on to win a silver medal at the Games in the women’s powerlifting
Athletic Heat is a household name in Nigerian athletics and it’s no surprise that in 2021, Our CEO, Eseroghene Oguma was named the media officer of Team Nigeria to the World U20 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya. Upon his return to Nigeria, he was recognised by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism for his tremendous contributions to sports development in not just Lagos State but Nigeria as a whole.
With his exceptional coverage in Kenya, he was once again named the media officer of Team Nigeria to the 2022 World U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia.
We have successfully hosted 5 editions of our prestigious annual Track and Field Awards with a big boost in 2023 being a welcome speech by World Athletics CEO, Mr Jon Ridgeon. The Athletics Federation of Nigeria have equally thrown their support to our glamorous event.
A company founded by three teenagers in 2017 has significantly expanded over the past eight years, and we are committed to continuing our growth and contributing to the development of sports in Nigeria.
