The quartet of Nicholas Fakorede, Nicholas Mabilo,Ajayi Kayinsola and Musa Nurain stormed to the win in heat 2 of the men’s 4×100m in a season’s best time of 39.41s just a tenth of a second outside the national record they set in Nairobi last year.
Unlike their female counterparts who dropped the baton in the qualifying round, the men had quite a good chemistry as the passes were quite clean.
Fakorede had a great start handing off to his teammate Mabilo who ran a storming second leg passing the baton to Ajayi who ran a solid bend and then handing off to Musa who had the great responsibility of anchoring the team home.
They qualified into the finals with the third fastest time which puts them into hot seats as a medal contender.
