Super Eagles B head coach Eric Chelle has unveiled a 35 man provisional list for Nigeria’s campaign at the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN), scheduled to be hosted jointly by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda next month. The squad features a blend of experience and youthful talent, including team captain Junior Harrison Nduka, reliable forward Anas Yusuf, and influential midfielder Papa Mustapha Daniel. Also making the cut is first choice goalkeeper Henry Ani, who headlines a competitive goalkeeping unit that includes Kayode Bankole and Ebenezer Harcourt.
The defenders’ lineup sees the return of trusted names like Waliu Ojetoye, Uzondu Harrison, and Mohammed Kabiru, alongside promising talents such as Ifeanyi Onyebuchi and Sodiq Ismaila. In midfield, Remo Stars’ Haddi Haruna and Rangers’ Saviour Isaac will lead creative duties, while attacking threats come in the form of Sunday Megwo, Godwin Obaje, Adamu Abubakar, and Plateau United’s Temitope Vincent. The list highlights the depth in Nigeria’s local league, with clubs like Remo Stars, Rivers United, Rangers, and Ikorodu City well represented.
Drawn in Group D, Nigeria faces a tough test against defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo. The Super Eagles will play their first two group games at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, before traveling to the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam for their final group clash. All invited players have been instructed to report to camp at the Remo Stars Sports Institute, Ikenne-Remo, on Monday, 7th July with their international passports and club licenses, as preparations intensify for a title push at CHAN 2025.
