The Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) has officially released its schedule for the 2025 National Tennis Tournaments, set to run from July through August. In a letter signed by the NTF Secretary General, Shammah Makpa, the federation announced that the tournaments are part of its annual programs and will take place in two key locations. Abuja for able-bodied players and Lagos for wheelchair tennis athletes. The scheduled events include the VEMP Open Championship (July 4–12), the Davnotch Open Championship (July 11–19), and the CBN Open Championship (July 18–26), all to be held in the nation’s capital.
Meanwhile, the federation has also made detailed arrangements for the wheelchair tennis tournaments, which will be hosted in Lagos. The events lined up include the VEMP Wheelchair Tennis (August 11–13), Davnotch Wheelchair Tennis (August 15–18), and the CBN Wheelchair Tennis (August 20–23). These competitions underline the federation’s commitment to inclusivity and the development of tennis across all categories in Nigeria. The letter serves as an official invitation to state associations, clubs, and individual stakeholders to register eligible Nigerian players for participation.
The NTF emphasized that the tournaments are strictly for Nigerian players and open to all registered stakeholders within the country. It also noted that factsheets and registration forms have been distributed alongside the invitation to aid preparation and compliance. With preparations in full swing, the Nigeria Tennis Federation looks forward to another exciting season of national tennis action, displaying the best talents across both the able-bodied and wheelchair categories.
